Lately we heard of Google Nexus being sued for using the name of its phone from an old English novel of the title- Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. (May read the detailed story here- Nexus One Being Sued). Now its Apple's number. Yes, Apple is being sued by a Chinese company Shezhen Brother Industrial Co.
but why? Well, this Chinese company says that Apple has replicated its iPad design. (I know it's become too messy. Sometime back, Nokia had filed a case against Apple claiming that Apple violated the patent rights; and Apple had countered back with an equally strong claim.)
The Chinese company states they have had the patent rights since May 2009. Though they have claimed that iPad is their design, Shezhen Brother Industrial Co. is definite that they would not be able to do any harm to Apple and that they in all possibilities won't win the case in US. So what is this Chinese company going to do?
Wait for the iPad to release in China!
Looks like Apple is having a bad time. At one side folks, to be more precise- Apple fans, have condemned the iPad for not living upto the Apple standards. And now it is a more serious affair. But look at the fact, to a commoner legal matters would have been not easy to get out of where as Apple doesn’t have much threat from being accused of copying an already patented idea. The major trouble that Apple will have is from its fans and general public who are the real Apple makers when it comes to the Smartphone sector.
Leaving behind the iPad criticism, let's wait to watch the events unfold of the Shezhen Brother Industrial Co. claim. And if Apple will ever release iPad in China or not. Most probably Apple will. After all, China is such a huge market of cell phones and smart phones.
